Job Description
Mandatory internship: Validation of 2D/3D safety sensors

Summer Semester 2026 – Limited to 3–6 months

 

This internship position is part of the R&D department for SICK’s safety-related 2D and 3D sensors. You will work within the Verification & Validation team, with a focus on the Validation sub-area. In this role, you will support the team in the design, development, and execution of customer-oriented validation tests in both new development and change projects.

 

YOUR TASKS:

  • Develop new customer-oriented validation tests for safety-related 2D laser scanners and safe 3D cameras.
  • Execute customer-oriented validation tests for safety-related 2D laser scanners and safe 3D cameras.
  • Develop a PC-based tool for new automated test evaluation methods.
  • Perform automated and semi-automated test evaluations.
  • Create test specifications and test instructions for newly developed tests.
  • Document test results in the form of test reports.

 

YOUR PROFILE:

  • You are currently studying Electrical Engineering, (Technical) Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a comparable field of study.
  • You have strong skills in MATLAB and knowledge of Python or a comparable high-level programming language.
  • You have a strong technical interest in 2D and 3D sensor technology.
  • You have good written and spoken English skills.
  • You are an empathetic individual who enjoys working in interdisciplinary teams.
  • You demonstrate a systematic, solution-oriented, and independent working style with a strong focus on quality.
  • Your enthusiasm for innovation and creativity in problem-solving complete your profile.
